Experience

What Moe Brings to the Table

Moe's case for the mayor's office is simple: Thunder Bay needs proven business leadership. She has spent more than 30 years building and operating businesses across multiple sectors, managing budgets, leading large teams, and solving problems in the private sector. That is the experience she will bring to City Hall.

Entrepreneur and Operator

Moe built Giorg Ristorante from scratch, growing it into one of Thunder Bay's most respected fine dining restaurants and a pillar of the local food scene for decades. She has managed and operated multiple businesses locally and consulted for businesses across Canada, helping them become more profitable and more efficient.

Budgeting and Forecasting

Moe has hands-on forecasting and budgeting experience working with major manufacturers including Ford, Chrysler, Mercedes-Benz, and Mazda. She knows how to read a balance sheet, build a realistic budget, and hold spending accountable, because her own livelihood depended on it.

Leading People

Between her businesses, Moe has managed large teams of people. She understands hiring, training, retention, and what it takes to build a team culture where people deliver, skills that translate directly to leading a municipal organization.

Strategic and Long-Term Planning

Every business Moe has run required long-term planning: capital investment, market positioning, and multi-year growth strategies. City Hall needs the same discipline. Moe plans past the next headline and toward the next decade.

Communication and Problem Solving

Decades of serving customers, negotiating with suppliers, and leading staff have made Moe a direct communicator and a practical problem solver. She listens first, asks hard questions, and focuses on solutions that actually work.

Community Service

Moe's volunteer service runs deep in Thunder Bay. She serves with the Alpini Group of Thunder Bay, the Gran Sasso Club Thunder Bay, the Canadian Italian Business and Professional Association (CIBPA), the Catholic Women's League, and the St. Patrick's Cathedral Parish Council. She has worked for years alongside veterans at Royal Canadian Legion Branch 5, where she is proud to be a comrade. She has served on the Ontario Trillium Foundation's Finance and Audit Committee as well as in government relations, and while running Giorg she chaired the Industry Division of the United Way campaign. She has also been involved with St. Joseph's Care Group, Client & Family Partner.

Business experience over council experience.

Moe has built and operated businesses across multiple sectors, managed budgets and forecasting with major manufacturers, and led large teams of people. She has served her community, solved complex problems, and planned for the long term. That is the experience Thunder Bay needs right now.
