Moe is a proud supporter of Thunder Bay's Smart Growth Action Plan - the community-built, Council-approved 10-year roadmap to grow our tax base, strengthen our workforce, and attract new residents. These priorities are about delivering that plan: turning a shared vision into real results.
Keep Thunder Bay Moving
Moe will bring forward a clear, multi-year roads plan that fixes the worst streets first using the City's own condition data, so spending follows need instead of headlines. She will push to coordinate road, water, and utility work so the same street isn't dug up twice, and she will treat reliable infrastructure as the basic service residents are already paying for.
Bring the Pool 6 Waterfront to Life
The waterfront has been talked about for years; Moe's focus is moving it from plan to progress. She will pursue partnerships with private investment and senior governments to develop the site in a way that creates jobs, draws people downtown, and gives Thunder Bay a waterfront the whole city can be proud of.
Clear, Fair Communication
Moe will open up City Hall with plain-language updates on the decisions that affect residents and a clear picture of where tax dollars actually go. She will make consultation genuinely two-way through regular, accessible opportunities for people to be heard before decisions are made, not after.
Grow the Costco and Innova Park Corridor
Drawing on more than 30 years in business, Moe will back smart commercial growth by cutting the permitting delays and red tape that push investment and jobs elsewhere. Every new business that locates here widens the tax base, which is how the city funds services without leaning harder on residential taxpayers.
Clear the Path for New Housing
As a real estate broker, Moe has seen first-hand how slow approvals and unnecessary barriers hold back new homes. She will streamline the City's approval and permitting process and support a full range of housing, from starter homes for young families to options that let seniors age in place, working with builders and the province to get more homes built faster.
Be Thunder Bay's Champion in Toronto and Ottawa
As a regional hub for health care, education, and services across Northwestern Ontario, Thunder Bay deserves its fair share of provincial and federal funding. Moe will build real working relationships at both levels of government and partner with neighbouring municipalities and First Nations so the region speaks with a stronger, united voice.
Respect Every Tax Dollar
Moe will bring a business owner's discipline to the City budget, scrutinizing spending line by line and asking whether residents are getting value for their money. Her approach is straightforward: grow the tax base through responsible development so the city's future is funded by growth, not by higher tax bills.
Where Moe Stands on Strong Mayor Powers
For the first time, Thunder Bay's incoming mayor will receive "strong mayor" powers from the province, including the ability to make certain decisions without council approval. Moe believes Thunder Bay's strength comes from people working together, and that is how she intends to lead.
Moe will use the mayor's authority to keep council focused and moving, but the big decisions that shape our city belong around the council table, made openly and with the community's input. She will be transparent about how and when she uses the powers of the office, because trust is earned through openness, not control.
